Leveling Domes (Cylinders) & Anti-Scratch Washer

We offer two types of leveling domes for the StrataDome system. A standard screw-on dome or, for the regular professional user, the Pro Leveling Dome which permits extra fast installation.

The uniquely designed PRO dome slides over the threaded clip right down to the tile surface, a quarter turn clockwise engages the internal thread and allows tightening to achieve the leveling (no need to screw all the way down the thread). After completion, used spacer screws can be quickly released with a quarter turn anti-clockwise. The PRO dome is a real time saver for regular users.

Both domes are compatible with the anti-scratch washer and all spacer/leveling screw clips. The domes can be recovered and re-used indefinitely. The Anti-Scratch washer, which is also re-usable, is recommended for use on shiny or other tile surfaces that may be marked by the screw action during leveling.

Threaded spacer/leveler clips are inserted underneath the tile edges or at joint intersections, into the bed of adhesive, before the adjacent tiles are positioned. The anti-scratch washer (use optional) is placed onto the bottom of the Leveling Dome (fits both the Standard and PRO Dome) which is then screwed onto the threaded spacer/leveler clip until the tiles are drawn level.

The Standard Leveling Dome is designed for easy tightening by hand and spins freely within the anti-scratch washer, preventing any marking on delicate surfaces and allowing for quick installation. The PRO Dome is faster to use, see part description for details.

Once the tiles are laid and leveled, leave until the tile adhesive is dry. The Domes and Spacer/Leveler Screws can then be easily removed by giving the domes a sharp tap with a rubber headed mallet, or by a kick, ideally in a parallel direction to the tile edge. This will cause the screw to break off at a level with the tile base leaving the joints clear and ready for grouting. The used leveler screws can be removed from the Domes and Washers which can then be saved for re-use.
