This 'top of the range' professional pedestal support system is designed for installations where high loads may be encountered, such as in public areas, and is also ideal for high rise applications. The Hercules pedestals have large, load spreading, 8.25" (210mm) or 9" (230mm) diameter bases with heavy support ribs making them capable of supporting up to 6,600 lbf (3,000 kgf).
The very high load capabilty ensures these pedestals are suitable for use across a very wide range of leveling applications from patios, decks and roof gardens through to external buildings, log cabins, large hot tubs, surface pools and more. These pedestals are ideal for large decks with long joist spans (using 6" or 12" height joists), reducing the number of support points compared with other pedestal systems with lower weight carrying capacities.
A range of 5 pedestal bases offer adjustability starting from 1" (25mm) height up to 11" (280mm) depending on the model used. The two largest pedestals can also be further extended to any required height by addition of one or more screw-in extender sections - available separately. Each Extender can be adjusted to provide from 3.15" to 5.5" (80mm to 140mm) of additional height - (Note: Improved item, not as shown in product video ).
The pedestals are adjustable either from below or from above, using a special adjustment tool, for paver installations.
- Heavy Duty - up to 6,600 lbf (3,000 kgf) load capacity
- Versions for Pavers and for Decking Joists
- Fixed or Self-Leveling heads
- Integrated Acoustic Rubber Layer on all heads
- From 1" to 11" (25 to 280 mm) and extendable to any height
- Adjustment from above for paver installations
Each pack contains the complete pedestal with base, screw section and head plate to suit either pavers or joists. The head plates all come complete with an integrated acoustic rubber layer for cushioning and for noise transmission reduction.
Paver heads have four removable 5/32" (4mm) thick spacer tabs and, for joist support the head plates have a single upstand flange with a slot for screw fixing to the joist if required. Both self-leveling (up to 5° slopes) or fixed heads are available as required.
Note: Self-leveling heads are not recommended for use with high rise installations, where it is better to ensure the base is level and the pedestal column is vertical, as this ensures maximum strength with the weight transmitted down the centres of the pedestal construction.
Height adjustment of the pedestals can be achieved from below by rotating the bases and screw parts or, in the case of paver installations, also from above after installing the pavers by using a special adjustment key (available separately).
Extra large 210mm (8.25") or 230mm (9”) base plates, on the 60mm and larger pedestals, provide stable support on most surfaces. Scribe marks are provided on the undersides to assist in trimming for use at the sides and corners of installations. An optional 9" square x 1/8" thick (230mm² x 3mm) anti-slip, cushioning, rubber base pad is available for use on membranes, etc. This also reduces transmitted noise where pavers are mounted on balconies or roof areas.
StrataRise Hercules pedestals are tested to withstand a maximum 6,600 lbf (3,000 Kgf). At their weakest setting, i.e. maximum height adjustment with just one thread engaged, they will support at least 3,300 lbf (1,500Kgf).
